There are 258 million children around the world who do not know how to read or write.

Our vision is of a world where no child is ever denied the chance to learn.

Jessica’s Story:

A second chance at education in Liberia

Jessica’s family didn’t have enough money to send her to school. At age 11, Jessica finally started school by enrolling in the Luminos Fund’s free catch-up education program. Within six months, Jessica progressed from not recognizing any letters of the alphabet to being one of the best readers in her class.

There are over 59 million primary-school-aged children like Jessica who are out of school globally, a number that is expected to grow because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Luminos Fund’s vision is of a world where no child is ever denied the chance to learn.
